My periodic programming style runs you through four key phases within a six week block. Getting your body to adapt, know when to push - know when to recover. This structure has incredible results maximising over-all performance, strength, reducing fatigue and the possibility of over training. No wasted potential.
We focus in on technique WeekOne-Two, working at around 75% we have the opportunity to pick out your weaknesses while the load is light. You will often have new exercises or a new structure at the beginning of the block, so learning how our body adapts to this change is a huge focus for us.
Then we build our strength WeekThree-Four. The training is heavier but after filtering out all the difficulties, and getting used to the routine - these two weeks can often feel like a breeze. This is also the time where we can up the hypertrophy training focus for muscle growth and body re-composition pushing towards that 90% range.
WeekFive we overreach - What is your 100%, and can you go past it? Our strongest week in the block. We have been drilling the same movements and the same rep ranges for the past four weeks, now we get to see what you can do with them.
In any normal training program… you do not need to recover this often. However if we want to create a structure where our body knows exactly what to do, we must be consistent in that structure. So in WeekSix we recover.
Then we adjust and do it all again.
